The Major os now off the ventilator, so I hope we'll have some answers soon. Here's recent stuff that has come out:
In regards to him not being religious because he supposedly drank and went to strip clubs, the local clubs have said that he came in frequently before the shooting. He brought with him a six pack, but drank a few sips from one and gave the rest away. Sound like an alcoholic to you?

As I stated, radical muslims would start to praise Maj Nidal for his actions, like this radical Imam

The man did not just recently grow radical. He gave a presentation in college that stated Islamic law trumped the US Constitution and that justified suicide bombings, so this was not a recent turn in his philosophy. Now Congress may look into classifying this a terrorist attack

He went out of his way to have his mother's funeral at the same mosque that 2 9/11 hijackers attended during the time that the same radical imam mentioned above was there

Every time more information surfaces, it points the same way. Others have stated that he never spoke out against US policy, or the wars...false. That he was not a devout muslim...not so sure about that That he had nothing to do with terrorists and radicals... obviously if he met with Anwar Aulaqi, who lied to the FBI about his meetings with 9/11 hijackers, and then left to Yemen then that is not true. Is it really that shocking to people that this same radical imam is now praising his actions? There is obviously an effort by some to disregard all this and claim that it was just the typical nutcase. In that same respect, I would argue that suicide bombers are pretty crazy too, but oddly enough there seem to be a lot of them. This guy, I think was more of a self styled terrorist than an actual one. I know what people say about he could have been more useful to AQ as an intel guy, but maybe he really was just unhappy with his life and wanted to be a martyr. In the shia culture, martyrs are revered and that's why many people attempt to lay down their lives for those beliefs. It's usually no coincidence that these people have nothing good going on in their lives and turn to hate as a way of dealing with their dispair. I'm looking forward to more emerging, but the picture gets more and more clear daily. The guy was quite obviously an extremist. Oh, and as for him being harassed at work, I know most of you are unfamiliar with how the Army works but if you had the gall to harass a Major, you would be dealt with in the harshest manner. That and Ft Hood has a top notch EO program, and he never once filed a complaint.
