American militia

Yup, I'm from Texas. I heard some Texas militia did helping victims of Hurricane Katrina.

5.56, I don't think I can join Texas State Guard, they looks like National Guard or Army to me.

State guard is owned by the state government and cannot be deployed (overseas), and are not on on military payroll, deffinatly not to be confused with the National Guard.

Thank god their faces were blacked out, they look like some pretty high profile operators.

Thank god we have highly armed people roaming our woods protecting us from an imminent Canadian invasion.

Especially those guys in the picture, i mean did they just storm an oil rig?

On a side note, better hope they dont have to share ammo.

Texas State Guard was deployed to New Orleans to support the Texas National Guard. State Guards cannot be deployed overseas but they can be deployed within the US and her territories.

Well, ive avoided comment on this thread for preetey long.

1. that is some nice gear. If i had it i would get some pictures two. lovely rifles and very nice sights, lights and grips.

2. it never hurts to have a group of trained armed civilians in your community. if they are in contact with law autherities they can help in various situations. this would depend on how good they are. if they are not very well trained, they can be used in containing an area if and when a group of nutjobs takes hostages. if they are very good, as in SWAT certified, they can be used as a ready team for any situation in the community.

3. Israel dose not have militias but most small communities have a ready team. these are men that are armed by the IDF or Israeli Police(depending on the location of the community) and offer a very quick respons to terror attacks. Its true that Israel probably has a greater need for this, but if people want to spend weekends training, why not?

now, if only i could be a militia tank commander:)

Nope.... civvies attending tactical training courses. Tons of them being offered. I've even instructed a few of them in South Florida.

say 5.56, you think there is a job for me out there? i am not an infantry man but im preetey well schoold in infantry tactics.just wandering?

Hmmm who knows? Maybe you can help in terms of the armor. You make sure simulated armored OPFOR behave like a real armored column.
Good luck getting a work permit though. That process is just MURDEROUS. I'm going through the process now (mine's been approved) so if you want I'll tell you what you need to do and what to expect.
