Unless you go there or planning to do so I do not see the significance, just because you are locationally challenged. I have moose and bears all around me, but I still shoot, clean, cook and eat them.
 
The only thing better in this world that is better than Alaska is My Marine and kids. So yes Alaska is an awesome experience and worth every bit of it. We even have a beach :)
