China vs USA

I know this may never happen but wat if a war would break out between the two super power?

China has been modernizing it's armies for the past two years, while the US has clear air power. who would win?
 
well after the nuclear exchange...no one would win. something about that large radioactive cloud would be shared with the neighbors... :D
 
i just got to be truthful...i just cant see a conventional war with china

First what would be the point? we could take out all its aircraft ships and maybe a good deal of its land forces...but without actually landing and taking the land or the resources..whats the point of going to war with them? They really don't have anything we would want?

They have trouble just feeding their people. and they have a lot of people. Their just isn't enough bullets, bombs or whatever to get rid of all those people.

and you just don't start something with a nation that has that many people without some means to control them..let face it, how do you control over a billion people who don't want to be controlled?

The only thing i can see in this situation..is that if you start something with anything that big..you had better be using something to remove as much of that population as you can. otherwise, they are going to come back after you with everything they have.
 
the only war i could see between china and the US is over taiwan and that is where all the fighting will be in my opinion, there wont be an invasion of china and no nukes will be used because of the fallout, china has to be careful though as taiwan is the major investor into china so they would want as little damage done as possible to taiwan and the main computer chip manufacturing plants are in taiwan so the US will lose out! a war would not be good for either country and i cant see a benefit for either country, apart from possibly expanding its influence.
 
China is currently under a socialist/ communist stage trying to change their image as a under developed country into a world super power. every year it's economy grows and so does it's military leaving the US to underestimate their true power. While some villages require aid (due to floods and other natural disasters) more and more of it's people r begining able to sustain themselves. And as the economy grows so does it's military. China want's taiwan and is willing to fight for it. Since it is under US protection, china sees them as a threat knowing that they have allies and bases in japan, south korea, taiwan, and throughout south asia. The US do not plan to give taiwan to china any time soon because of it's idea to stop the spread of communism. And they know china has large oil reserve along with huge supplies of natural gas and other resources. So all we need is some sort of event such as a missle aimed at taiwan to go off by accident and we will have a full scale war.

(China is also studying the events in iraq and is wondering why a country with all it's technology and training is having such difficulty controling resistance groups using out dated and old equipment.)



my question is if this does happen within the next 10 years who do u think would win?

It's not about the equipment. It's about the tactics. We must weed out ists disguising themselves as civilians. We are dealing with little children blowing themselves up after asking for candy and women hiding weapons under their skirts. If we were just dealing with uniformed men openly brandishing weapons(like the good ole days), the war would have been over a long time ago.

...And what is the deal with all this C vs America these days? Could someone explain this to me? I know we haven't gotten along in the past, but what's the deal?

US is moderniseing it's Army every day for almost 70 years.......

Look at the Chinese Military budget, and look at the US........... 8)

Yes we have the greatest AF, but so do Army(maybe not the biggest numericaly, but highly trained and best equiped) & Navy...
And don't forget US can win any conventional war.... :D

As Sherman said, keep it on topic. Also try to avoid making extravagant, unverifiable claims, they only lead to problems.
 
Let me just say something very simple, and you can think about it when you have time :D

China vs America war is only the war btw these two, USA cannot count on S.Korea or Japn at all. S.Korea will not let USA use ANY of her bases to attack China, if they do, China will conqure S.Korea. Japan will not let USA use her bases either, if they do, they can count on Chinese missile strikes (high explosive pre-nuke ones).

If USA don't have bases to take off the airplanes, then only from Carriers.
Now we are going back to our old Topic about "How to attack Carriers" :D

Don't forget this: MAD is applied to both China and America, EVEN IF China runs into trouble handling US jets, China can do some mini-nukes into Carriers groups, or just explode 2 H-bombs 500 KM afront of the Carrier Groups, then USA is pissed off, there is no hope more for America, game over :D

Think back, every time china and the US have had a showdown agaist each other, china has either tied or won. Korean war, in the early stages of the war the north koreans we re almost defeated by the US and south korean armies until mao sends over hundreads of his volunteers to push them back.
Or the vietnam war althou china did not send troops to north vietnam like before, they did supply the viet kong wif tons of guns and ammo. And during the viet war the US had tanks, new rifles, helecopters and an airforce. yet the we re still pushed back to saigon and eventually fled resulting in the largest military failure in modern warfare taking in thousands of casulties.

It doesnt matter how long a country has been modernizing it's when a country modernize. Altho the US has an advantage in knowing how to use their technology to their full advantage because of their experience. It doesnt change the fact that china 's military is turning into a a force not to be wreckend with. so far china has the second largest military defence budget and and army of 2.3 million all equipt with new guns tanks and technology. China also plans to build a navy that can put most countries to shame.
 
Dear me looks like someone or many are doing some big game fishing and all the big game are biting. This seems to be turning into a weeing contest between the USA and the Chinese. But nothing wrong with a good argument though.
