You are forgetting one little fact - I'm an "old" fart of 61 years of age and I learned good manners at my mother and father's knees.
IF I had taken you on a date, the following would have been fact also:
MONEY - you would not have been ABLE to pay even one red cent
(a run to McDonald's is NOT a date) (period).
DOORS - the ONLY door you would have been allowed to open for yourself would have been the door to the Ladies Room (period).
WRAPS - you would have been assisted with the removal and donning of your outer evening wrap (coat, etc.) (period).
CHAIR - you would have been shown to your chair, the chair would have been pulled out and you would have been assisted with your seating (period).
On top of all of these things, you would have been escorted to your front door (whether I came in or not) and I would NOT have left till I heard the bolt thrown on the door (pulling up in front of your home and dropping you off is a no-no) (period).
My dear, I think the reason you are waiting for some "guy" to pull your chair out is because the "guys" you have been dating are boys not men.
REAL MEN KNOW HOW TO TREAT A REAL LADY AND $100.00 IS NOT AN UNREASONABLE AMOUNT FOR AN EVENINGS ENTERTAINMENT FOR TWO.
Quid-pro-quo is not always the aim of a gentleman, good company, good food, interesting conversation and just a little response on the part of the lady goes a long ways to repayment for an enjoyable night.
Find a real man and stop dating boys - *YES Alice* - there are still gentlemen out there!.
