The Mosquito, the fastest Prop plane for years during WW2, as a fighter Io was deadly, as night night fighter it was great, as medium bomber it was fantastic, and it also did a great job on photo reconnaissance

Probably the Hurricane and the Messerschmit. Two amazing fighters.
Both out dated before WW2 even began.
Well...arguably. They had been around for a long time but many historians argue the Hurricane was nearly as good as the Spitfire. Not as good of course, but they do believe it could still do many things the Spitfire could. And of course we musn't forget it was actually the Hurricane that won the Battle of Britain not the Spitfire....mainly because there were more of them at the time.:smile:
No arguments from me, I just find it ironic that the two outstanding fighters of WW2 were out dated before the war even started.
