What is American cheese? Cheddar? Mozarella? Gouda? Is American cheese that stuff out of a can or "Cheese Whiz"?
Personally, I think American "cheese" is like American "beer"...a cheap mass produced product that bears no real relationship to the original...but I LOVES it!
(Come on, Americans...don't brew beer using rice, though )
American cheese varieties: (didn't know there were that many, but I am a bit sceptical about some of the kinds listed here like Colby or Swiss...seem more like slight modifications)
