WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PATRIOTIC SONG?

I'm not too familiar with other country's patriotic songs, I do however know that the most inspirational British songs are 'Rule Brittannia' (Great Song and often mistaken for our National Anthem) and 'Jerusalem' (More of an English patriotic song).

I know it's going to come off as corny, but I will always have a big part of my heart set aside for the Marines Hymn.

believe it or not.."the Stars and Stripes Forever" actually has words to it. And yes, its my favorite patriotic song.. :D

The Stars and Stripes Forever

by john Phillip Sousa

Let martial note in triumph float
And liberty extend its mighty hand
A flag appears 'mid thunderous cheers,
The banner of the Western land.
The emblem of the brave and true
Its folds protect no tyrant crew;
The red and white and starry blue
Is freedom's shield and hope.

Other nations may deem their flags the best
And cheer them with fervid elation
But the flag of the North and South and West
Is the flag of flags, the flag of Freedom's nation.

Hurrah for the flag of the free!
May it wave as our standard forever,
The gem of the land and the sea,
The banner of the right.
Let despots remember the day
When our fathers with mighty endeavor
Proclaimed as they marched to the fray
That by their might and by their right
It waves forever.

Let eagle shriek from lofty peak
The never-ending watchword of our land;
Let summer breeze waft through the trees
The echo of the chorus grand.
Sing out for liberty and light,
Sing out for freedom and the right.
Sing out for Union and its might,
O patriotic sons.

Other nations may deem their flags the best
And cheer them with fervid elation,
But the flag of the North and South and West
Is the flag of flags, the flag of Freedom's nation.

Hurrah for the flag of the free.
May it wave as our standard forever
The gem of the land and the sea,
The banner of the right.
Let despots remember the day
When our fathers with might endeavor
Proclaimed as they marched to the fray,
That by their might and by their right
It waves forever.

We sing this at church on my ship:

Eternal Father, Strong to save
Whose arm doth bind the restless wave,
Who bidd'st the might ocen deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
O hear us when we cry to Thee
For those in peril to the sea.

Lord, guard and guide the men who fly
Through the great spaces int he sky;
Be with them always in the air,
In darkening storms or sunlight fair.
O hear us when we lift our prayer
For those in peril in the air.

Eternal Father, grant, we pray,
To all Marines, both night and day,
The courage, honor, strength and skill
Their land to serve, they law fulfill;
Be thou the shield for evermore
For every perial to the Corps. Amen

OOORAH

Nothing wrong with that at all, end up whistling it out of nowhere. The Hymn and the Anthem are the to that get me the most.

Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA"

I like that one the best because he didn't wait for a war to release that one he loved and supported the country before the war in Iraq began.

La Marseillaise and Red Army Choir. I find the Red Army Choir is a song with more pride in it, but overall, la Marseillaise is a more inspiring song and I find it more patriotic and motivational.
