2181 - I get that much time off, I don't know what to do with it! I only work 2 thirds of the year, I've got to fit 40 days leave into that!!!

2182 Well we work ten weeks, then take a week off. Our in my case two weeks because I had a week of leave I wanted to take. The hours is one reason a lot of people decide they don't want to be a Drill Sergeant anymore.

2183 I only work 8 hour shifts too - a lot of the time, I'm sat parked up as my beat is in a quiet rural county.

2187 I used to do 15 hour shifts when I was in Northern Ireland, but that was 25 years ago!

2188 Well you have to remember, this isn't something that you do for the fun of it. It's long hours, and a lot of headache. But trust me, setting a recruit go from being a citizen to a soldier is an amazing thing.
