I guess I'm not "up" on my liquor... because I have never heard of "Grouse". Always had preferred Finlandia Vodka or the like. But alas, stomach ailments prevent me to imbibe these days.

I will be fifty in several-ish months. I don't remember ever drinking cognac! Now that is a shame! I have drank my share of champagne... Perrier Jouet (sp)?, Moet, Verve....on...

Cognac is nice after a dinner, the same alcohol level as scotch and vodka (more or less) I usually takes the cognac to the coffee.

Hennessy and Renault are nice, try a little and see if you like it if you get the opportunity
