note on "state": State is the official scientific word for country. The American "state" is not really a state in the true sense of the word. A nation is a group of people. And to be a nation-state, you must be totally homogeneous. The Republic of Ireland is a rare example of the Nation-State. Turkey is a state which includes the Nation of Turks and the Nation of Kurds. Hence I used "state" in the quote above.
So don't get all jumpy for all of us (including me) who aren't American.
