even-year-old Son of Massachusetts Pro-family Activist Attacked 6/22/2006

Incident occurs on second anniversary of same-sex “marriage” in the state.
A mob of schoolchildren seized and beat the 7-year-old son of pro-family activist David Parker behind his school, Estabrook Elementary, in Lexington, Massachusetts, recently, on the second anniversary of same-sex “marriage” in Massachusetts.
The victim, first-grader Jacob Parker, apparently is feeling the heat for his father’s opposition to forced pro-homosexual education.
“When you tell children over and over that opposing homosexuality amounts to hatred, you’re setting some kids up for this sort of abuse,” said Robert Knight, Director of Concerned Women for America’s (CWA’s) Culture & Family Institute. “The school posted numerous slanted articles in the school library about Mr. Parker’s dispute with authorities, and some parents went out of their way to stir up hatred toward Parker and his family. It seems tolerance is a one-way street today in Massachusetts.”
David Parker first made headlines when police arrested him in April 2005 for “trespassing” on his son’s school property. Parker had been meeting with the principal requesting to be informed when Jacob’s classroom teacher included discussions about homosexuality. When the school refused to give parental notice, Parker refused to leave the premises. Parker was jailed for the night, received a $1,000 fine and told to never visit the school again. He was even barred from entering school grounds during a recent election, when the school was a polling site.
“This is not about creating a forum for hate . . . for any segment of society,” Parker said, according to a Boston Globe article on boston.com. “I'm just trying to be a good dad.”
On May 17 during recess, eight to ten children encircled Jacob and took him around the corner of a building, out of sight of the playground monitor. One boy in particular administered the beating, punching Jacob in the chest, stomach and genital areas. The mugging appeared premeditated. Finally, a little girl ran to inform a teacher’s aide. The teacher decided that since Jacob showed no signs of bleeding or punches to the face, he didn’t need to go to the nurse. None of the students was suspended.
Many observers believe it’s not coincidental that this happened on the “gay-marriage” anniversary in Massachusetts. Parker’s clash with the school over homosexuality is well-known in the community. Local residents have publicly demonstrated against him, even soliciting their children to participate. Parker doesn’t blame the students, instead referring to the situation as “displaced aggression.”
Brian Camenker, president of Massresistance.com, which first reported the incident last week, told CWA that David Parker “wanted to wait a few weeks to see what the school would do. He did a little soul-searching before going public with this.”
On the advice of his attorney, who has filed a federal lawsuit alleging violation of parents’ First Amendment rights against the school district on behalf of Parker and some other parents, Parker declined to comment to CWA on the May 17 incident with his son.
Recently the school superintendent asked three different government agencies to investigate the beatings. All three mysteriously declined.
Parker earlier told another interviewer that his son should not have to be the one to leave a public school. However, he added, “There are limits to how much patience we can have. I certainly understand why more and more parents are pulling their children out of public schools,” according to Lifesitenews.com.
This event wasn’t the first time Estabrook Elementary School has made homosexuality-related news. One mother was shocked to learn that her son’s second-grade teacher had read aloud a book called King and King, a fairy tale in which the prince weds his true love—another male. The illustrations include the two men kissing. The teacher defended her actions, saying that because Massachusetts has “gay marriage,” parents have no right to be informed about such materials.
