Ther're changing things so fast, I won't even be able to recognize our own troops. If I got my uniforms out of the attic, I'd be mistaken for a South American rebel.

I guess next you're going to tell me there are no more specialist grades up through E-8.

by the way - I'm no longer an E-2, havent been for a good minute - but thats not that big of a deal...

Yep they got rid of the Spec 8's back about Vietnam too when the Command Sergeant Major was brought into being that changed the E-8 and E-9 ratings. The Spec 7 was done away with about 10 or 12 years later followed soon there after by the Spec 6 and Spec 5. Since the 1980s there has only been one Specialist grade and nobody even bothers calling them Spec 4s now - just "Specialist" or "Hey, Spec!".
