OCCUPATION OF GREECE, 1941-1944, AND ATHENS WW2 LOCATIONS
I was fortunate to visit Greece and Athens in 2019 and have now finally finished research devoted to the WW2 locations in the capital. The history of the occupation of Athens cannot be told without a deeper delve into the history of the Italian invasion of Albania, the Battle of Greece in 1941, the Holocaust of the Greek Jews, and the sufferings that the country went through between 1941 and 1944. In this detailed 10,000-word research, I invite you to focus on the generally underappreciated theater of the Second World War and its people: fighting, resistance, occupation, and collaboration. In the second half of the article, I spoke in detail about the well-known locations, cemeteries, museums, and memorials in Athens, with both archival photos and then/now comparisons.
I would sincerely appreciate your activity on the article: feedback, questions, and corrections.
