After I left the RAF I couldn't settle down at all, I drifted from job to job until I found a job with local government. You are going to miss the comradeship that you had in the army big time, civi's do not have the same kind of friendship (for want of a better word) as military people have.
This is what i'm afraid about.
I am not leaving the army now, i just want to know what options i have in future. actually like working with people but i don't know what civ job without degree i can get.

Doug, my biggest regret was leaving the RAF, I wish I had signed on for longer. However, I did join the Territorial Army which I suppose is like your national guard which went a little way to the comradeship I had in the RAF.
Have you thought about doing 22 years and make a career out of it? If I had my time again, thats what I would have done.
You always have options. If you one day decide to leave army, you will definitely find what to do for living. Many former soldiers of mine found the jobs and even well-paid. But the question is if you need this now? If you like doing what you do, keep doing that! You can work as a police officer, as a management consultant or anything you want. Perhaps, you might need to study but not as much as four years in college.
