I WAS AN INSTRUCTOR at the USAF security-police school at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. The course was divided into four blocks of instruction: weapons, general subjects, security and law enforcement. Each block had several instructors assigned to it and was headed by a senior noncommissioned officer. At 900 hours each Monday morning, the noncom in charge of the school would announce over the PA system: "There will be a meeting of all block heads at ten hundred hours."
