btw Turks are not arabic, they originaly came from central Asia. In this period of time they were wearing turban, just like Seeks, but they were made of silk.

Interestingly enough, Ghengis Khan and the Mongols had a substantial Turkish component to their armies. They were neighbors, geographically and quite similar culturally.
The Ottoman Turks (and other Turks who settled in the Middle East) lost much of their cultural identity and adopted much from the Byzantines, Persians and Arabs culture as their own.
I know that they are not descended from the Arabs. The Turks DID essentially take control the destiny of most of the world of Islam for several centuries though.serbianpower said:
