We are having the 35th anniversary of the Apollo 11 and 12 mission to the moon on my aircraft carrier.
All week we have this Don Blair guy "The voice of Apollo" or something like that on the ship signing books. He is an old radio announcer guy here with his wife. I guess he was the guy the world heard announce the apollo missions when they came back to earth.
So he was having a break from book signing. He was standing with some of the staff and he said to one of the staff "My wife trys to sink my ships in the tub" or something like that, implying he was playing with boats in the bathtub. I turned to him and said "I hope she doesn't grab your rubber ducky!"
He looked at me really weird and I realized that it kinda came out wrong if you know what I mean. He looked a little shocked and I bet I did too. I think I saw a little smile though. sigh....
