SAN'A, YEMEN — Yemen yesterday denied reports that a man convicted for the al Qaeda bombing of the U.S. Navy ship Cole in 2000 was set free.
The United States said Friday that it would be "disturbing" if reports that Jamal Badawi was released from prison in Yemen were true and that it would press the Yemeni government on the issue.
A Yemeni Interior Ministry source said Badawi was still detained, in comments carried by a Web site (www.26 sep.net) that is close to the government.
