Feds: Student made bombing how-to video (AP)

 What should I say? :bang: This is not a kindergarten, I suppose. Why am I wasting my time with you on this then?

Your Blogs and Extremist Sites do not interest me.

I however will view something ending in .gov

Well, if the person wearing a police uniform hurts me or any one, I have enough trust in the US or Canadian or any democratic system to preserve the justice. I trust the system and am sure my rights can be protected if I don't do any thing wrong. Yep, police can be bad, but there are checks and balances which I trust!

The same laws that protect you from officialdom also protect you against racist citizens, so really you have nothing to worry about from them either, so there was no need to get annoyed.

All you are saying is that you would not blame a policeman for doing the same thing that you would call racist when said or done by any other citizen???

Yeah,.. I'm basically in the same boat regards profiling but I feel that one of us needs to play the devil's advocate in this matter, as it is certainly not as clear cut as any of us would like.

No, I didn't say that. What I meant was that I can rest assured knowing that a police officer is expected to behave himself and there is some body to go to complain. It may not be the case if the same thing is done by a pedestrian on the streets of the city. Moreover, police officer is enforcing the law. The law can't be racist in the year 2007. Police do its job which I respect!

Look, I went to movies tonight and there were bunch of really "scary-looking" people wearing Saudi-Arabian like head wear in the crowd. I kept telling my friends how it could be great if some body check these guys. I don't think it is racism. It's certainly "Racial Profiling".

If the State is right in getting the bad guy, it is good investigative work, and exceptional powers of observation, in the end everything works out.
If the State is wrong, it is Racial Profiling, and a bad action, and could very well be found to be an illegal action in a Court of Law.

Well, I like your optimism regarding racism and the law, however I personally would be very wary of any attempts to legalise "profiling" by race colour or belief. Once laws are in place, they are rarely if ever rescinded and mainly tend to just get added onto, this can lead to them changing significantly in their application.

The use of a little common sense might help matters here, but common sense is impossible to regulate. I would certainly hate to be the person responsible for framing such a piece of legislation.

I love the freedom and democratic values of the western societies and I trust their institutions.

But it is not the fault of the west for passing those laws. Some scary looking guys force our societies in the west to pass those laws. And moreover, it is a way to make sure we're all safe where we are. I don't want to be blown into pieces by a "scary-looking" individual in the movie theater or aboard an airliner. Government is here to protect the people and I want them to do it!

Unfortunately, it is not going to happen! This is the age of radical islamic terrorism and I wished western societies do more to protect themselves from this menace

One must worry about "College Students" based on their country of origin
1500 Iran Uni students here in Australia with Muslim backgrounds hell yes!

Uni students are thick as the nearest brick when it comes to real life issues. In thoery anything sounds good. They get on their bandwagons and off they go.

Hold a real job, rise a family, buy your own house, then talk to me.

I don't believe people who have been cosy in their parents home all their lives and never once had to face real issues have all to much to contribute to society, expect in the future may or may not get a job and start to pay back what they have sucked out the system in the first place.

Uni students protest to much over crap they know nothing about. :bang:

They are the most influenced nuffs we have in this society, and having some mullahs trying to create bombs and youtubing for other mullahs to follow them, I say bang them up.

And if that makes me a racist so be it, cause I will glady wear that title.
