totally my Fav
Well, I think R. Lee Ermey, though Jack Nicholson as Col. Nathan Jessep in a Few Good Men, and Louis Gossett Jr. as Gunnery Sgt Foley in Officer and Gentleman, come close.

All are pretty squared away :)
I don't know if it is true, but I heard that the director of FULL METAL JACKET was watching Sgt R.L. Ermey coaching an actor to be drill sergeant Hartman. The director was so impressed by Ermey that he fired the actor and hired the marine to perform the role of Gunnery Sergeant Hartman who obviously therefore was the real thing and did it brilliantly.
Russel Crowe- Gladiator
Josh Hartnett and Tom Sizemore in BHD
Sean Connery- The Rock, Hunt for Red October
Tom Hanks- Saving Private Ryan
Mel Gibson- The Patriot, We Were Soldiers
I like Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Carribean. I think he was a really great actor in that movie. I also like Tom Hanks in Saving Private Ryan and Mel Gibson in We Were Soldiers.
