ETHNIC COMEDY RELIEF

I'm beginning a thread for ethnic comedy relief. I try to find the humor in things and I'm hoping that we can all sometimes see the comedy in life and even laugh at ourselves.
We're all human (I think)

This sure is true. I go to a Baptist church that is mostly black and the service is often > 2 hours. If you go for the before service teaching it's 3 hours.

Archie Bunker is a different kind of bigot. The way Carroll O'Connor plaid that role it took Archie's bogtry and turned it around on him. His humor, though crass and idiotic, put a hilarity to the bigotry, showing it for what it really is.

As for church, we aren't short like the cracker in the last video talked about. Our is a few hours long. But then I'm also Pentacostal. We just don't do the dancing with rattlesnakes gig.

I remember my parents watching this.. my dad laughing so hard his recliner would be jumping. That's how it looked to me when I was a little girl. I didn't see the comedy in the show back then, just remember he loved watching it. When YouTube became popular I searched for it there and began watching these shows...seeing them in a whole new light

Yes.. Archie Bunker was a bigot but Carol O'Conner somehow made the guy loveable... he was making over $200,000 weekly playing a loveable hilarious bigot on tv every week.. not too shabby.

I don't think any of this is funny because white folks don't know how to laugh there's always that feeling guilt of offending someone and black folks knows it and capitalize on it .

I hadn't heard of this show before... yes.. he seems to be a bit like Archie Bunker and his wife, Else (Dandy Nichols), like Edith. I found Alf Garnett on YouTube arguing about Jesus's ethnicity and his wife talking about how the stable was the only place not crowded because it was Christmas
