i am a 27 yr old male who recently has been denied a criminal background waiver for the usmc for a misd. offense that has been dismissed. it took approximately 4 months, from november 08 to march of 09, just to tell me that if i didnt score 50 or above on the asvab they would not approve my waiver. so i got a 46. the problem with that is that every time they asked me to do something i did it and every single time they came up with something new for me to come up with. first it was can i carry a gun or not and i got a court doc. saying i can, then it was ref. letters and so on and so on. they made me do all this running around for 4 months to tell me no go!! i think i deserve a more clear answer on why im being denied. i feel im just being judged by paper work and not the person i really am, even though it says that the marine corp will consider the "whole person" when doing a waiver. what can i do to get a better answer on why they denied me or to give me a better chance on approving my waiver?
