Actually I suspect its an example of the rarest of all WW2 items, a German with a sense of humour.

looks like it. may be a hat holder, sock airer outter or dream catcher, love the cutoffs with pants underneath, super duper macho like Fred Sanford type of outfit..

It's the Super Duper Secert Direction Finding PanzerFaust Mobile Mule.
See Hans listens on his head phones and finds Partisians broadcasting. Then he launches the mule and remotely fires the Panzerfaust.

There were plans for a PanzerSchreck mule but it never got off the ground.

Not so sure its a Nazi though he appears to be a paratrooper, I am guessing the photo is taken in either Italy or Greece.
