Combat Medic Question

They were both Mormons that were drafted during the height of the Vietnam War and they carried the label "conscientious objector" with pride but still opted to serve the military as medics. I met them just a short while after reporting to my unit. They were serving with the First Cav. I believe that both men were nominated for the Medal of Honor but I am not positive. I was transferred shortly after this tragedy and have lost contact with members of my unit that could have answered my questions.

Chief, was a movie made about those Mormon medics? Maybe I have the wrong war but I'm sure I have heard of some movie honouring the service of Mormon soldiers / medics ???

Also, my understanding is that under the G & H Conventions, medics and chaplains do not lose thier non-combatant status if they have only a side-arm for self protection or to protect their patients or in the case of chaplains their holy wine supplies. :angel:

You are correct about the sidearm. And I believe the movie you are thinking of is "Saints and Soldiers".
