BMPT anyone?

I was wondering what are your thoughts about the concept of using special vehicles as means of tank support. Why BMPT could be better than mechanzied infantry? And what do you think about the perspectives of this kind of weapon?

Well, there's one major difference. They say BMPT was designed for using in densely populated areas, towns, cities...

I think its a good idea that fits the times we are in now. We don't need large amounts of tanks to roll across countrysides anymore, that era is gone. Now everything is a lot more urban, with both sides within reaching distance of each other.

This should work well, and I am not surprised that Russia is keen on the idea. I don't think any of us need reminding of what happened to all those Russian tanks in Chechnya...
