The Messiah?

Louis Farrakhan, who is the leader of the Nation of Islam (a muslim), called Barack Hussein Obama the Messiah, when he spoke at the 2008 Saviour’s Day. Farrakhan said:
"You are the instrument that God is gonna use to bring about universal change, and that is why Barack has captured the youth, and he has involved young people in a political process they didn’t care to think about. That’s a sign. When the Messiah speaks, the youth will hear … and the Messiah is absolutely speaking."
SCARY!!! This sounds exactly how German youth responded to Adolph Hitler. History repeats itself. By the time Hitler seized power, it was too late for Germany, and the Nazi victims. It took a World War to stop Hitler. Could the world have stopped Hitler if he had been the leader of the United States of America? Evil comes in the name of change.
Be afraid. Be very afraid. These are scary times we are living in. Our world is changing, and the decisions we make today, will determine the future of our children.
Do you see any white people in the Farrakhan audience?
Would a Muslim call someone the Messiah if that person (Obama) wasn’t a Muslim?

Nation of Islam is not a mainstream Islamic organization and is as far as any Islamic authority is concerned, not practitioners of real Islam.

To the best of my recollection, Farrakhan is a big admirer of Hitler and his aims and ambitions. Well, such is the nature of the wish for big CHANGE. The good ol' Animal Farm scenario. - 'Hey, that ain't what we thought we were getting!' In matters political I prefer to rely on evolution.

If I recall Animal Farm correctly, the bad guy used ignorance, smear tactics and force to take control, and claimed ideas of others as his own. Reminds me of a certain faux-Maverick who in fact took that name from someone else...

Hi TOG; I was speaking of the important premise raised by the concept , that of the animals being persuaded initially to bring about big change by overthrowing the farmer, and too late finding themselves somewhere they really didn't want to be. Boy, did they want that ol' farmer back. That was the important warning, remember? And outside of Orwell, we all know that once Pandora's box is opened it can be all but impossible to turn back the clock.

I have to say that for once your analogy just don't fit. Don't fit anywhere at all; your target would be the hard-working farmer. Boy, did they want him back. But someone like Farracckan making headway sure does fit your picture.

If I recall the only reason they acted was through the prophecy of the elder... who didn't live to finish the job. Which led to tyranny under his closest followers...

Very few lived to finish the job- the usual way of revolution, and the great heroes of the people, the horse Hercules in this case, fall just like the giant of the French Revolution, Dante, as the grip of the predators is enforced, ref. Stalin; the original champions are quickly dragged down once they have won power.

Animal Farm is simply a warning of the dangers of the totalitarian state, paticular target The Socialist State; "All men are equal - but some are more equal than others".

Hey, TOG, I haven't read it since I was 10 years old, gimme a break. I'm damn-well 73, don't make me read it again!

Fair Enough. I get the feeling this isn't going anywhere anyway, so I shall turn my attention to the subject matter:

Don't Christians call Christ the Messiah even though Christ was Jewish?

Do remember that McCain is also attempting to run on Change, but he just uses different words. Hitler ran on increasing military might and ran on creating a fear of the communists and attempting to link his political opponents to communism. Sounds eerily similar to the tactics of McCain's followers against Obama, in their repeated attempts to link him to Islam, which for the life of me I can't figure out why it's such a bad thing. Fundamentalists are the Westboro Baptist Church of Islam. They just actually have the guts to carry out the attacks they threaten. Most Muslims are like most Christians; peaceful, and with a normal outlook on the world, with no intent to wipe everyone off the face of the earth.

I don't get this post.... So because that Farrakahn talks about Obama, Obama is tainted and the next Hitler. Is that what is being said? I'll first wait for this answer before giving mine...

Yeah Nation of Islam ......isn't......never has been......won't be considered mainstream by a real Muslim. Nor will the Moorish Nation etc, etc. They have taken Islam in name only and and pick and choose what part of it confroms with their outlook.

As far as Hitler. No. But anything connected to Louie Farakahn is questionable since Farakahn is a known race baiter and racist (unless your black) so yeah that can taint Obama. Not with me I ain't voting for him anyway.

You're joking surely???

Anyway if thats your main concern perhaps you and 5.65 x 45mm would like to get together and buy more guns and ammunition before the election. Not sure it will help the economic situation which your mob created.

The dangers posed by the likes of Farrakhan are likely to increase as they raise their heads above the parapets again ; the current situation presents them with a new and coveted platform.

Yes, this is right up there with the financial mess, private/public debt, health cover (lack of), updating infratructure etc. The US could be in grave danger.
