I think releasing deadlines such as this is a very bad idea, as it gives any opposition the opportunity to plan and execute acts that may cause the failure of everything that we have worked for.

I think 'good' or 'bad' is a little too vague to say the least. Its important that the Iraqis get some visual and physical proff to assure them that the US is not going to govern them, and its furthermore important they get used to governing themselves and taking responsibility into their own hands.

I just think we (US) can't just give power to anyone to meet the deadline. I would say a deadline is a bad thing for this, when the right party or group or whatever is found, thats when the turnover should happen.

And if the US doesn't meet the deadline, the Iraqis will lose trust.
