Topic: Is an Iranian missile attack on Bagram AFB possible?

I recently read an article claiming that Iran was targeting US bases in the gulf area. They mentioned Bagram AFB in their article.

If this threat would occur, and Iran launched non-nuclear missiles at Bagram AFB, would it be a guarenteed success?

What countermeasures does the base have to protect against missiles? (E.g. Patriot Missile SAM) Do these countermeasures work 100% everytime?

Thankks for your opinions!

Not sure that an asset like that is even in the AO. What's there is designed to deal with "small" stuff like 107s and mortars.

Probably not going to give you info on the defensive capabilities of an active AFB in a combat zone...over the internet...to an anonymous person...asking a very intrusive question...this isn't suspicious at all!

OPSEC buddy, look it up, live it, love it, and then apply it.

Of course they can target Bagram Air Base, but can Iran handle the retaliation?

I'm not asking the specifics, honestly, would Iran really hire someone to go onto this site and ask questions?

I'm wondering does the AFB have the capability to destroy missiles. I've heard that the Patriot Missile System SAM can in fact target missiles as well as aircraft, is this what they will be using if a missile does in fact target the Base?

Have you any idea how to collect information of intelligence value?
Some questions, for obvious reasons, will not be answered.

Stefan,
What is your interest in an active AFB defence?
Are you set to deploy there?
If so you will get a chance to see first hand what is there and what is not.

I doubt YOU Sir are being payed by the Iranian goverment to find out if such an attack is a viable option.
Proffessionals are usually alot more subtle then you in making such inqueries unless they are dumbarses.
Sad thing is, most of the dumbarses in this conflict are allready dead.

HOWEVER, even enemies of the coalition owns and knows how to operate computers, disregarding how crazy that may sound to you, they may even be able to go online and log in to a totally OPEN forum for the world to see.

Think, then post.....think, then post....think...

KJ sends.

This is possible because it's a common knowledge that Middle East countries are rich and US will benefit in both ways when they wage war.
