Illegal Immigrant solution

Chief Engineer

There is a man who is president of his homeowner's association down in Washington. They are having a terrible problem with trash on the side of the road that is around his association's homes. The reason is that six new homes . . . big ones are being built just next to them.

The Association found out that the trash was coming from the Mexican work crews working at the construction sites. (McDonald Bags, Burger King trash, etc). They have pleaded with the site supervisors and the general contractor to no avail, called the City, County, the Police and got no help. So . . . guess what some people in his community did?

They organized about twenty folks, named themselves The "Inner Neighborhood Services" to go out at lunch time and "police" the trash themselves. It is what they did while picking up the trash that is HILARIOUS ! ! !

They got some navy blue baseball caps and had the initials "INS" ("Inner Neighborhood Services", but also the initials of the U.S. Department of Immigration and Naturalization) in gold put on the caps. It doesn't take a rocket scientist, however, to understand what they hoped people would think it means.
Well the day after their first pick up detail, with them wearing their caps and some carrying cameras, 46 out of 68, of the construction workers did not show up for work the next morning ! ! ! and haven't come back yet ! ! ! It has been ten days.
Now the General Contractor, I understand is mad, but can't say anything publicly, because he could be busted for hiring illegal aliens. The homeowner's association can't be accused of impersonating INS folks, because they have it on their home owner association records the vote to form the new committee (("Inner Neighborhood Services") within their association, plus they informed the INS about what they were doing in advance, and the INS said basically . . . have at it"!

SO, I THINK YOU COULD SAY THAT AMERICAN INGENUITY TRIUMPHS AGAIN ! ! !

ANd who will be sued when the houses aren't finished in time? But people can just make caps like that and it is no problem? In Holland you'd probably have a problem because the proper INS says that you use their abbreviation on purpose as to imitate them.... and you are. Anyway, it is a funny anecdote.....

Ah, so in Holland there would be no teen-aged boys running about with FBI shirts? Female Body Inspector. :)

Ehhhh..... I don't know. All I know is that I once received a very unpleasant phone-call from somebody. I had started a little company and teh abbreviations of the name was already taken. Not officially though, but they had been around for quite a while. This was enough to have legal claim for that abb.
Sure you have funny shirts, but posting with caps resembling the INS, would get you into trouble.... at least if you get the attention these people did.

As long as your intent is not to present yourself as a member of an organization, you can wear anything you want. Whenever I train with Fed or Local LE agencies, we always exchange tee-shirts, they generally have the department/agency logo and "police" "SWAT" etc on them. Mostly I wear them to the gym and to work around the house just as general tee-shirts, but it isn't illegal for me to wear them. Now, if I were to put on a FBI shirt and tried to impersonate an agent (ie, claiming to be one), that's illegal.

I don't if this account is true or not, I can't find anything on Snopes.com to confirm or deny it yet, but I hope it is. It's very ingenious.

INS is ICE now, anyway.
