The Chinese language scares the bejeezus out of the Chinese. One of my engineering supervisors, and good friend, immigrated from Hong Kong when he was 10 yrs old. He grew up in Arkansas and went to the University of Arkansas. Eventually, his Grandmother and the rest of the family in Hong Kong decided that they had found the perfect Wife for him. Unfortunately, She spoke a different dialect and not very much English. He spoke Arkansas and very little of a different dialect from hers. I never saw a man sweat so much in my life. They must have learned to converse, they're Grand parents now.
