About the Webmaster (Me):

My name is Lars, and I work as an officer (1. Lt) in the Field Artillery Battalion, North Norway.
This is my 8th year in the army: 
I have worked 4 years in the Field Artillery (Mostly Reconnaissance) 
I have 3 operational tours abroad (South Lebanon, Macedonia and Bosnia)
1 year Sergeant School.
2 years in the Norwegian Military Academy (Krigsskolen)

About this site:

This site has been around (in different forms)  for a couple of years now.
But this present form www.military-quotes.com went online in the end of December 2002.
It started as only 1 page with military quotes on another site that I'm running.
But as time went by, it grew bigger and bigger, and in November 2002 I had about 800 quotes.
Most military related sites has a page or two with military quotes, 
but I found no sites dedicated to military quotes alone.
And as Sir Winston Churchill once said: 
 "It is a good thing for an uneducated man to read books of quotations"
I therefore bought the name www.military-quotes.com, 
and found a great offer by my current web host Lunarpages.
(Which I really do recommend, their customer support and hosting plans are really good!).
And the result was this site!

It started with 50-100 visitors pr day, but I already have an average of about 800-1000 pr day now, 
with an average of 7-8 page views pr visitor.
So I guess I must have done something right... :)

I'm always trying to add more military related "stuff" to this site.
I have recently added 300 mottos to the mottos section, and I have a lot more to add.
I'm currently planning to add military cadence calls and songs to the site.
So If you have any, please mail them to me!

are not protected by copyright.

But remember that some "short phrases" or quotes taken from books
 or other publications etc. can still be copyrighted, and therefore can't be used for commercial purposes. 
But as a thumb rule, almost anything older than 100 years can be used. (with some exceptions).
