I haven't been able to confirm Lee could it have been Col. Chamberlain at Little Round Top duing the battle of Gettysburg? He was suppose to have held at all cost and when running out of ammo ordered a bayonet charge and successfully defended the left flank.Redleg said:General Robert E. Lee![]()

The actual quote bu Lee is "I was too weak to defend, so I attacked".
But if the quote you are looking for is "I was not strong enough to defend so I attacked", then I can't find any info about it....
