Which Ship

I remember being shown a film which featured a United States auircraft carrier serving in the Viet Nam Theatre. Somebody on the ship initiated an accident in that he launched a weapon and caused severe damage. we were shown the film as a warning about playing 'hanger pilot'.

My question is this - Does anybody know what the ship was called or even remember the film?

The USS Forestal.

It was McCain's plane, I think (serious).

Film seems to be Situation Critical

a simular accident also occured on the Enterprise..and the USS America, though not with the devastating results of the florestal.

I watched the camera films. Even after bomb explosions had decimated two fire fighting crews..the men still ran back in to fire caldron...

they are shown to N.J.R.O.T.C. classes..at least during my time..to emphasise safety and what team work to save a ship will do.
