BAGHDAD, Sept 10, 2006 (AFP) - Insurgents killed three people and wounded 16
in a bomb attack in central Baghdad on Sunday, medical and security
officials said.

"The Al-Kindi hospital has received three bodies of people killed in the
bomb attack," a medic at the hospital told AFP.

Interior ministry spokesman Brigadier General Abdul Karim Khalaf said the
attack took place at 11:20 am (0720 GMT) near Baghdad's central Tayran
Square and "16 people were wounded."

Insurgents have managed to carry out massive attacks across Baghdad despite
a major security crackdown by Iraqi and US forces since mid-June.
