The process

I'm an aspiring Marine; However, I have no Idea on how the process works.

Research is always an option, but I also feel it's necessary to ask those who have personally gone through the experience.

What I need is a simple explanation of what steps I will go through from Enlistment-to-Service.
It doesn't have to be well thought-out, or highly detailed; General information will do, as long as I can get the gist of what to expect.

Anything that will help me gain a better understanding of what I'll be expected to achieve would be greatly appreciated.

I am not a Marine but I will answer these questions vague enough not to get myself into trouble.

Since you are watching this thread like its a piece of meat I will throw you a bone Wolf. It starts off with talking to a recruiter. After you get your **** straight you will go to MEPS. MEPS is where you finish up your paper work and get everything set in stone. You will probably go to MEPS twice, the first time for your paper work and contract and the second time for when you ship out.

After you leave MEPS you will go to your selected base/training center and probably sit in reception for a good week or so. After that you will start your initial training "boot camp". This is where you will learn the rank structure/how to salute/how to march/basic infantry. After you finish this you will start your MOS training such as Infantry or Medic. I am not exactly sure how the Marine corp works in this respect, you will have to ask a Marine. After your get qualified in your respective field you will be a full blown Marine.

Maybe Rndrsafe or one of the other Marines can get a little more detailed with you.
