Reuters - Spain's Interior Ministry said on Tuesday it had raised its anti-terror alert level to 2 to reflect the risk of possible attacks ahead of Madrid taking over the European Union Presidency on January 1.

Seriously, his reasoning is ok, I have no prob with my Interior Minister telling such stuff, it has been the first time ever? So what?

Most papers blame this to be a distractional move to distract from he economic crisis, but - just because it has been the first time and I can follow the reasoning - I do not share htat POV.

Checking out my neighbours right now, some new family members there I have never seen for the last 15 yrs... and they do not look the standard Arabic mix but rather Basque... (!)
