Saudi Arabia bombs Yeman

Well that is one way of getting the Gulf of Aden closed, seems someone is determined to destroy the worlds economy for some reason.

First it was Russia invading Ukraine, now Trump has closed Hormuz and soon the Houthi will be back to shooting at oil tankers in the Bab el-Mandeb.

I'm not very good at predictions but it's a got the potential of becoming an epic dumpster fire.

I had no problem with the targeting of Iran nuke facilities. Trump even had the tacit support of Hillary Clinton, of all people, for those strikes. But he should've backed off after that. If there's one thing we've learned through modern history is that with very few exceptions air power alone ain't enough to effect a regime change. If anything, all it does is cement a people's will to resist.

And it's hard for me to believe that he might've actually thought that air strikes would trigger a grassroots revolution by unarmed people against a hardcore IRGC that massacred demonstrators by the thousands last winter.

As far as Pakistan getting involved, aren't they a bit busy in Afghanistan right now?
This Thread is about the Houthis, there is a Thread for the Iran war. Supposedly Pakistan is at war with Afghanistan, no press about it lately.

Strangely I see the Houthi as a bigger threat than Iran, Iran for all its religious dogma is a state actor and generally follows the "rules" that govern legitimate states, the Houthi are a tribal rabble who are basically a fractionally less psychotic version of ISIS.
Given that Houthi actions directly affect the west I am all in favour of the west removing that influence.

His point about Pakistan possibly entering the war in support of Saudi Arabia is an interesting one as it significantly widens the conflict given that they are seemingly having continuous border skirmishes with the Taliban.
