Georgian officials said that they stopped a Russian military truck in Georgian territory near the town of Odzisi on Wednesday and that it was filled with explosives and Georgian military uniforms.
"It was carrying more than 100 kilos [about 220 pounds] of TNT, with detonators and cables and communication jamming devices," Interior Ministry spokesman Shota Utiashvili said, adding that the driver, a Russian army conscript, said he did not know what he was carrying.
The driver said he had gotten lost in Russian-controlled South Ossetia, Utiashvili said. Georgian police handed over the driver, the truck and its contents to representatives of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, which has observers in the area.
