Well.....yea. I was inspired. So I wrote it during English class. And I just wanted to see what you guys think of it. I might be wrong in stuff......I am still a civilian so...yea.

The few, the proud, the dead.
That is the joke of those well fed
because they haven't felt the fear.
They joke about them while they drink beer.
These few and proud have felt the honour.
They serve for people they don't know
and fight for people that don't care.
They don't do it for the rewards in store
nor the change of scenery or country, not even for the snow
but because they know, if they don't, they'll see the world bare....

So the best you can do is let them be,
leave them to do their job.
And give them your grateful and undying love.

Army strong is their slogan
to die for people they don't know is what they do
they are the army of one.
Your letters and pictures they hold on to
hoping that you are still there.
They know depression and loneliness is his enemy in the battlefield,
with you when he comes back a family he wants to build.

So the best you can do is let them be,
leave them to do their job.
And give them your grateful and undying love.

Their death always crosses their minds,
Will he die here as a hero?
Or die like an animal?
Will his body be dragged through these strange streets?
Or will he be buried like the soldier he is?
But he knows this is his duty,he signed up for it
2 months, 20 days and, 5 hours left...

So the best you can do is let them be,
leave them to do their job.
And give them your grateful and undying love.

They put themselves in the line of fire
and they do it with a quick reply of "Yes, Sire"
Then off to fight they go,
fight for you and them Average Joe's.
This is their duty, they know this,
the fact they are dying for peace.

So the best you can do is let them be,
leave them to do thier job.
And give them your grateful and undying love.

I had some inspiration like, for example in the dragging through the streets.....I was thinking of that video where there was that dead soldier being dragged across the streets. I think it was from Somalia....Yea, that one.
