Actually its a minimum of 2 yrs Infantry. (got it from a recruiter)

I would think it would be best to get the information straight from someone whos in the Marines (Infantry or amlready a Recon)

You can get the chance to go through the screening right out of infantry school, but you need to be recommended by the instructors and CO.
