Lockheed P-3C Orion German NAVY Marine 60+04 flypast and arrival at Manching Airport

The P3 is an awesome aircraft for its age but I am surprised anyone else is still flying them.


We are in the process of upgrading ours to the P-8 Poseiden.

The German NaVY is also looking for a new one, maybe the P8 or the Kawasaki P1

We hope to have the first 4 P-8s in service by 2023, we looked at several aircraft including the Kawasaki but I think they made the right choice with the P-8.


However, I still think they have made a bad decision in buying the new C130-Js as I dont see the point in buying a transport aircraft that cant carry our NH-90's nor the NZLAV-3s, should have bitten the bullet and purchased the surplus Luftwaffe A-400Ms at a decent price which can carry both.
