British Prime Minister Gordon Brown called Friday for the United States and Europe to usher in a new era of global "interdependence" to battle terrorism and other cross-border problems. In his first foreign policy address in the United States, at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston, Brown said the two countries urgently need to put aside competing interests and work together on new international rules and institutions on subjects also including climate change and world poverty.
