AFP - Israel will be able to handle any violence from "hardcore activists" on board a new Gaza-bound flotilla, the foreign minister said Tuesday, amid claims some were planning attacks with chemicals.

Look at these people - terrorists...?

Israel has a genuine problem after the Turkish boat Mavi Marmara dropped out of the Flotilla, allegedly due to technical problems. The present passengers, mainly western dignitaries, can hardly be called Turks, Moslems and Terrorists. Some hardcore, mr. Liebermann.....:m16shoot:...how childish is it possible to be...?

Stop Press.....: The Norwegian Flotilla vessel has had its propeller shaft cut last night. Since it is below the water level it must have been done by professional divers. Wonder who that could be......

Hmm...Norwegian flotilla vessel...?
Seems like the radicals here has assembeled some politicians and activists willing to participate, mostly hardcore communists, but also a few from the labour-party who may have some credibility.
OK I can see why the Israelis don't want that particular vessel to raise anchor and head for Gaza.

Actually it is Greek/Swedish/Norwegian.

Why, please? What damage would they do to Israel in Gaza...?

In Gaza, very little, next to none, but on route to Gaza, a whole lot.
While the communists are biased and blinded by their own ideology, the Norwegian labour party had (at least up to the massacres in Sabra and Shatila 1982) a very pro-Israel stance.

Although politicians, and as such liers by profession, they have more credibility as witnesses than the communists and the wannabe-commies in SV.
And credible, non-muslim, non communist, witnesses could prove a danger to the Israeli actions against the ..:cens:...flotilla.

Brute force just isn't enough, you have to control the information leaking out to the press as well, muslims and communists can be labeled as biased, while more "neutral" observers could be harder to argue against/silence.

Anyone who does not agree with Israeli policy is labeled a "hardcore" activist.

The Israelis do this because they feel that it will in some way excuse their typical heavy handed over reaction.

Liberman reminds me of our Zhirinovsky. Same sort of crazy fascist islamophobic clown. Zhirik is a Russian Jew, same as Liberman (who speaks Russian fluently), but he hates Israel. Yes, apparrently that's possible...
