BAGHDAD, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- Gunmen opened fire at a convoy of an Iraqi
police commando on a main road in western Baghdad on Wednesday, killing a
commando member and wounding five others, an Interior Ministry source said.

"Unknown gunmen opened fire at a police commando convoy near Nafaq
al-Shurtah tunnel, killing a commando member and wounding five others," the
source told Xinhua.
The attack took place shortly before midday as the convoy was travelling
through the area, he said.
Insurgents often target Iraqi security forces and government officials
in a bid to topple the Shiite-and-Kurdish-dominated government.
