How is MultiCam compared to ACUPAT?

I've been looking into buying some MultiCam for airsoft ops in the woods, and I wanted to know how well do they work in the forest compared to ACUPAT. I've used ACUPAT in an airsoft tournament and as long as I didn't move I blended in fine. Would it be the same or would it blend in a little better? Pics related, ACU and Multicam patterns.

From an operational perspective (ie, I use both patterns for work), multicam is the better option if you are playing in the woods.

I don't know that I'd spend the money on a knockoff uniform for airsoft though, unless you can find a good, cheap deal. Otherwise, go to a surplus store and grab some old woodland BDUs.

I'm not sure about camo of boonie hat on the guy in last pic, but jacket certainly is Multicam.

In general, Multicam works well in greyish-yellow, dry grass. It is too light in common green forests, and its wearer, if standing in open, can be seen easily from pretty long distance.

Actually, ACU is even worse - its color gamma totally is not suitable for vegetated areas, although works pretty well in urban areas.

I think in woods MultiCam is better, the US Army has adopted that camo x troops in Afghanistan. :bravo:

I suggest, CADPAT or MARPAT in woodland digital, or the Italian "Vegetata".

I own a set of multicam and have to say that I have never seen anything blend in as well as it does in multiple environments.

Multicam actually looks different in different shades of light or when fitted against different back grounds, something to do with the shading and coloring of the camo itself.

However..... if you buy a knock off of this it will be a waste of time and totally useless! Everyone and their mom is trying to recreate multicam, and alot of people even use the multicam name, however it isn't the real deal.

If you want real stuff, go to www.crye-precision.com

They are the actual makers of multicam, and every product is made in the US, with the highest quality. Get ready to fork out $$$ cause you are paying for the best!
 
I agree about the knockoffs, though depending on the manufacturer they aren't terrible. I can't remember who made ours but they came in the standard ACU style and cut and weren't too bad. We used those for a bit before Crye could give us the sizes we needed.

I think my favs are still the DCUs/BDUs, modified, of course. :mrgreen:

I like how Crye now has actual pants sizes instead of the military sizes, such as 32-34, like I wear, makes for a better fit. The Med-Long's I wore in the Army never seemed to fit right in the legs.
 
I got issued some new British MTP Multicam last week; IT IS PANTS!!!

Why the hell is it needed? = to save money, thats why.

Desert Camo for Deserts, Tropical/Jungle Camo for Tropics/Jungle

its a trick of the eye, thats how Multicam works; i.e. its cus its new that you like it!
 
As I think, think is just the difference in color and patterns.
