Home made Mercedes SLR

Bloody hell, that is awesome! But what was the original chassis... and since we are talking Poles here, will I be stopped at the border and find out that the parts come from all over Europe.
 
Dang, I didn't think anyone else here surfed the 'Tex! ;)

From the looks of it, the original chassis is a late 1970's/early 1980's era Mercedes CE-series coupe (i.e., 280CE, 300CE, etc.).
