Highschool credits

I'm 17 and struggling to catch up in credits to graduate this year so i can join the marines. I was wondering if anyone knows if i can still join the marines if i take the chspe which gives you 50 elective credits. I think this is a california only test so if anyone knows i would appreciate it. If not i'll make a drive to my recruiter :?

Is that sort of a GED?
