What does every one think about the conflict going on in haiti at the current time. i am not too familiar with the situation... can some one educate me?

People dont like Artisdale (The 'elected' president) and the country is in terible povery and famine (Poorest inwestern hemisphere) Im going there in the Summer if the violence stops on Missionary work, so I hope this stuff gets cleared up...

KINGSTON, Jamaica - Former Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide arrived in Jamaica Monday, escorted by U.S. supporters, two weeks after he resigned and flew to the Central African Republic.
Huntley Medley, an official in Jamaican Prime Minister P.J. Patterson's office, said Aristide's plane had landed at Kingston's Norman Manley international airport.
Haitian Prime Minister Gerard Latortue announced Monday he was freezing relations with Jamaica to show his displeasure with Patterson's decision to host Aristide.
Medley declined to provide any more details about the former Haitian president's immediate plans. Patterson has said Aristide and his wife planned to meet here with their two daughters, who had been living in New York, and would stay for several weeks but was not looking for asylum here.
Aristide signed a resignation letter and fled Haiti on February 29, but he has since alleged that he did not really resign and was ''kidnapped'' or ''tricked'' by U.S. officials who forced him to leave his country.
His departure eased four weeks of attacks by gunmen both opposed to and supporting Aristide that left more than 130 dead and sparked an intervention by some 2,600 peacekeeping troops from the United States, France, Chile and Canada.

- U.S. Marines who killed two Haitians in separate incidents were acting within their orders to fire when they felt threatened, Pentagon officials said Tuesday.
U.S. forces in Haiti have a limited set of circumstances during which they are allowed to use deadly force. They cannot shoot to deter looters, even if the target of the looting is an American company.
Officials have described the Marines' mission as protecting crucial sites, such as government buildings and the airport, to facilitate the eventual arrival of a U.N. peacekeeping force. That mission expanded Tuesday, when Marines said they will begin helping Haitian police disarm rebel groups that have been threatening new violence.
Late Monday, Marines shot and killed the driver of a vehicle speeding toward a military checkpoint, a spokesman said, the second person reported killed by the peacekeepers.
"When you see a vehicle approaching at high speed, it is seen as a threat so the Marines opened fire," spokesman Sgt. Timothy Edwards said. A passenger was wounded.
Also one marine wounded as of yesterday. Not sure how bad off he is or what happend everything still under wraps.
Marines are following there rules of engagement precisely in Haiti. Hopefully everything will be over soon.
