AP - A disgraced cloning expert who falsely claimed major breakthroughs in stem cell research was convicted Monday for embezzlement and other charges connected to the scandal, but he will not serve time in prison.

Fund embezzelment is so widespread in Korean academia that I'm surprised they actually charged this guy of it. If they did a real investigation, they'd find that a lot of professors finance their cars and houses this way. They write up a proposal, get money, blow it on personal stuff and fabricate the finished work.
